I have been a little slack with letting everyone know about what I have been up to the past few months, so time to start catching you all up! Throwback to November 2019 where I was fortunate enough to sing in a public masterclass with legendary baritone Thomas Quasthoff at Wigmore Hall! Together with my extremely talented partner-in-crime Marina Staneva, we performed 'Die Stadt' from Schubert's Schwanengesang and 'Schöne Wiege meiner Leiden' from Schumann's Liederkreis Op. 24 (a personal favourite of mine). It was such an incredible experience and I learned so much about singing and Lieder in such a small amount of time. Huge thank you to @guildhallvocal for putting me forward for this. An amazing experience premiering "The Menstruation Song" by composer Abel Esbenshade and poet Yashka Moore at Wigmore Hall last week. This was part of the VoiceWorks project at @guildhallschool @guildhallvocal where singers, composers, and poets worked together to create a new piece to be performed at Wigmore. This piece was the result of six months of #collaboration, and was a fascinating, enlightening, and enjoyable experience all round. Huge thanks to Yashka and Abel for the beautiful words and music, and to fellow singer Lucinda and flautist Fiona for being so great to work and perform with. This is my second #contemporary #premiere in two months, and I am loving working with new music. Let's hope there are many more opportunities in the future!
Last week was the world #premiere of @saneandsound_opera at @guildhallschool as part of the CoLAB project. This was a deeply moving and provocative project discussing and exploring #mentalhealth - in particular, schizoaffective disorder. It was derived from real life experiences and writings by Composer/Librettist Matt Geer and was deeply personal. Having honest and open dialogue about mental health is so important, and I believe that this #opera is important because of this. I feel honoured to have been a part of this, and I can not wait to be performing it again in festivals in July and August (details to come). Last week I had the great pleasure of performing in 'Swansong', Iain Burnside's music-theatre piece in which Schubert’s fourteen Schwanengesang songs are presented interspersed with monologues from six characters, real and imagined. It was such an incredible experience working with so many talented singers, pianists, and actors, as well as working with Iain Burnside himself! Two concerts in two days! The first was a concert for the Foundation of Australia and New Zealand Arts hosted at Goodenough College. It was such a joy to sing with so many amazing friends from New Zealand again. How lucky that we are all together here! Having everyone around makes life here so much happier and easier. The second was a concert of Spanish Zarzuela 💃 at Guildhall. I am lucky to have such awesome and supportive (and super talented!) classmates who made the whole experience so much fun. I am back home after a fantastic week down in Wellington as a semi-finalist in the 2018 Lexus Songquest. It was an incredible experience and I am so happy with the progress that I have made to get to this point. Huge congratulations and thanks to all of the other semi-finalists who performed so amazingly, and were also such great friends to spend the week with, especially big sis @chelseadolman, @nahtahshahwilson, and superstar @eliza.boom . Toi toi toi to the five amazing finalists - I can not wait to see you all smash it on Saturday! Thank you to the friends and family who sent me so many heartfelt messages throughout this journey. My biggest thanks goes to my Mum and Dad who have been a constant source of love and encouragement, and who came down especially to hear me sing x I am so excited about how far I have come, and how much further I have to go. Bring it on! xx

After singing in the chorus for Opera Holland Park’s productions of Un ballo in maschera and Manon Lescaut, I had a busy summer (July/August 2019) performing in two contemporary operas. The first was a repeat performance of Matt Geer’s Sane and Sound, a piece about schizo-affective disorder that I had previously performed at Guildhall. We performed this as part of the Grimeborn Festival at the Arcola Theatre, and it was really rewarding to be able to share this important work with a new audience.
